Hi there :)
The room is in a bright top-floor apartment, which was recently renovated (the whole building, which is from the 1940s, was renovated in recent years).
Other than your room, which has built-in cabinets, heating, and ventilation, you have access to a modern bathroom, a modern kitchen, a hallway with built-in cabinets, and a sun-filled balcony with access via my room (when my door is left open). You can also use the big dining table, when my door is left open :)
There is a washing machine room in the basement and a storage room you may also use. Plus, indoor bicycle parking.
Your room is about 10 square metres, but you also have access to other areas of the apartment (63 square metres plus balcony).
I can provide some furniture for your room and help you find a bed, if needed. ...I would say there is room for a bed and a desk table, and a chair, other than the built-in cabinets, which should fit all your clothes easily.
The kitchen is pretty well equipped already, and the balcony has furniture you can use.
People in the building are generally very friendly, and many of them like to chit-chat and help each other out, if you seem open to this. There are benches and a BBQ area outside by the lawns, but it never gets loud here.
Otherwise, you can also stay anonymous here :)
The apartment is a few minutes walk from Lyngby Lake, which offers nice walks and chill areas where you can enjoy sunsets, and you can paddle (I have two SUP boards) several kilometers up to Furesøen (has a beach!) via Mølleåen. You can also easily walk to the train station in a few minutes and to the shopping street and big mall in Lyngby Central, with many cafes and restaurants.
A slightly longer walk can take you to the forest and the Outdoor Museum in Sorgenfri. It is also within biking distance or a short bus ride to DTU or the ocean.
I am a freelance product and graphic designer, and I also work part-time as an optician. I am from Copenhagen, but have lived in Vancouver, Canada, for 2.5 years, Sydney, Australia, for 3 years, Tokyo, Japan, for 1 year, and am very happy living with internationals. Seeing the city from a new perspective and meeting people with a different background and view of the world is always great! Let's be open-minded :)
I am quite easy-going but prefer to keep the apartment pretty tidy and clean as I go along, rather than having things get gradually dirtier and then having to do a big cleanup ;)
Socialising sometimes and sharing a meal, going for some activity, sharing humorous moments, generally connecting, etc., is valued as much as privacy and personal space to recharge.
The room is available from August 1st, 2025.
The notice period for canceling our contract (in writing) is 2.5 months - this is in accordance with the building management regulations.
The listed price includes utilities and home insurance.
